As we gear up for our upcoming Yoga at the Farm event on September 14th at 10 am with Spencer Turk, it’s the perfect time to focus on mindful eating with farm-fresh recipes to refuel post-yoga. After a rejuvenating yoga session, use these simple and delicious recipes with Arrows Farm's seasonal produce, that will be available for purchase after!


Farm-Fresh Recipes for Post-Yoga Nourishment

1. Veggie-Packed Farm-Fresh Quiche

Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust or homemade crust

  • 4 large local eggs

  • 1 cup milk or cream

  • 1/2 cup bell peppers, diced (from our farm)

  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

  • 1/2 cup spinach or kale

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Place the pie crust in a quiche dish or pie pan.

  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.

  4. Layer the bell peppers, tomatoes, and spinach evenly in the pie crust.

  5. Pour the egg mixture over the veggies.

  6. Sprinkle cheese on top if using.

  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the quiche is set and lightly browned on top.

  8. Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

  • 1/4 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)

Instructions:

  1. If using dried elderberries, rehydrate them by simmering in water for 10 minutes and then strain.

  2. Add elderberries and honey (or sugar) to the kombucha.

  3. Stir gently and let it sit at room temperature for 1-2 days to allow flavors to meld.

  4. Strain the elderberries out before serving. Chill and enjoy!

3. Fresh Salad with Seasonal Greens

  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced

  1. In a large bowl, combine salad mix, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion.

  2. Drizzle with balsamic vinaigrette and toss gently.

  3. Serve immediately for a crisp, refreshing meal.

4. Refreshing Melon Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon local honey (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Place melon, yogurt, and coconut water in a blender.

  2. Blend until smooth. Taste and add honey if desired.

  3. Pour into glasses and serve chilled.
