Celebrate Fall Flavors with Seasonal Farm Recipes & Family Fun

Autumn is here, and at Arrows Farm, the crisp air, golden leaves, and freshly harvested produce are calling us outside and into the kitchen. There’s something magical about this season — the colors, the flavors, and the simple joy of gathering together around food.

This November, we’re celebrating the harvest with seasonal farm recipes, hands-on farm experiences for kids, and special events that bring families closer to the source of their food. Whether you’re cooking at home or joining us on the farm, there’s a way for everyone to savor the flavors of fall.

Hands-On Family Fun on the Farm

Fall is the perfect season to connect children with nature and the harvest. Our seasonal kids’ activity, Leaf Faces Fun, is a hands-on way for children to explore plants, leaves, and the fall season.

Kids draw a simple face on paper and glue colorful leaves as “hair,” while learning about how leaves change color, fall to enrich the soil, and support wildlife. This fun activity encourages observation, creativity, and a deeper connection to nature.

Why Local & Seasonal Matters

Eating locally grown food isn’t just about flavor — it’s about connection. Produce that’s harvested close to home retains more nutrients, tastes fresher, and has a smaller environmental footprint.

Supporting small farms keeps dollars in your community, strengthens rural economies, and fosters relationships with the people who grow your food. By visiting Arrows Farm, participating in events, and trying seasonal farm recipes at home, you’re helping create a food system that values freshness, responsibility, and community.
