Summer is here, and with it comes the opportunity for a fresh start. At Arrows Farm, we believe that this season is about more than just warm weather and longer days—it's a chance to slow down, reconnect with the land, and build simple routines that nourish your family inside and out.
This week marks the beginning of our veggie box season and the countdown to our summer farm camps. Whether you're picking up your first box of freshly harvested greens or preparing to send your child off to dig in the dirt with us, you're joining a rhythm that’s been rooted in the land for generations.

Why Seasonal Rhythms Matter More Than Schedules
In a world full of hectic calendars, endless sports practices, and screen-time battles, a seasonal rhythm offers something steadier and more grounding than a schedule. Unlike the strictness of hour-by-hour plans, rhythms follow the natural flow of the season. They're intuitive, flexible, and life-giving.
Eating with the seasons. Waking with the sun. Gathering at the table each evening. These habits don’t just benefit our health—they create space for connection, learning, and peace. When families adopt seasonal rhythms, life feels less chaotic and more intentional.
How a Veggie Box Can Be the Anchor for Your Week
Our veggie box program isn’t just a source of delicious produce—it can become a beautiful weekly ritual for your family. Here’s how:
Monday = Fresh Food Day
Make veggie box pick-up day something everyone looks forward to. Kids can help unpack the box and guess the names of the veggies. Let them taste a radish or sniff the fresh oregano. This kind of hands-on experience builds food curiosity and knowledge.

Let the Box Guide Your Meals
Use the week’s harvest as your starting point for meals. Here are a few simple ideas:
Salad Night with our lettuce mix, arugula, and mustard greens
Herb Butter or Olive Oil Cubes made from our thyme and oregano
Quick Pickled Radishes for sandwiches or tacos
This takes the guesswork out of dinner and reduces food waste—while helping your family eat what’s fresh and in season.
Involve the Kids
Let your kids choose one veggie to help prepare. Maybe they help wash greens or sprinkle herbs onto roasted potatoes. When children are part of the process, they’re far more likely to try—and enjoy—what’s on the plate.

Farm Camp: Learning by Living It
Our June 9–12 Farm Camp is officially full (hooray!), but we still have limited spots left in our other summer sessions. And we can’t wait to welcome more young hands into the soil.
At camp, kids experience what it’s like to grow, harvest, and enjoy food straight from the earth. They meet new friends, learn how plants grow, and spend their days moving, laughing, and exploring outside. It’s more than a camp—it’s a hands-on, unplugged education.
Parents often tell us their kids come home asking to grow their own food or help in the kitchen. That’s the power of a farm rhythm—it inspires action that sticks.
Simple Weekly Habits to Try This Summer
You don’t have to overhaul your lifestyle to start living seasonally. Just begin with one or two new habits that bring your family closer to the land:
Plan Meals from Your Veggie Box Every Monday
Let Kids Pick One Recipe a Week to Help With
Have a Screen-Free Picnic (even in your backyard!)
Keep a Family Garden Journal — even if you’re not growing, track what’s in season and what you’re cooking
Visit the Farm or Local Market Together — build relationships with the people who grow your food

Ready to Start Your Seasonal Rhythm?
If you’re ready to start a rhythm that brings your family back to the table, we’re here to guide the way. Order your veggie box, join our farm events, or sign your kids up for one of our summer camps—every step brings you closer to what matters most.
Let this be the season your family slows down and savors more. The farm is here to help you do just that.
